Gut Microbiome and Mental Health

Microbiome & Mental Health

Our research explores the connection between the gut microbiome and mental health. Current projects focus on three key areas: understanding how gut microbiome composition relates to depression symptoms in adults, investigating how psychotherapy may influence microbiome changes, and characterizing microbiome profiles in people living with HIV. By bridging microbiology, psychology, and clinical research, we aim to uncover pathways linking gut health and brain health to inform future interventions.
