Horacio Ruiseñor-Escudero, PhD MD MSc

Dr. Ruiseñor-Escudero is an Assistant Professor for the Department of Psychiatry at Michigan State University and is currently visiting fellow at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), working as part of the Key Populations Surveillance Team, Division of HIV and Tuberculosis. He has conducted worked with key populations in Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Cameroon, Togo, Mexico, Ghana, Central America, Dominican Republic, Cote d’Ivoire, Senegal, Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya and Vietnam. His research focuses on HIV/STI epidemiology, prevention, and implementation programs. Dr. Ruisenor-Escudero also provides scientific oversight to NIH funded projects based in Uganda and Malawi, aimed at improving neurodevelopment of children affected by HIV and malaria.
