Dr. Familiar-Lopez wins best poster at the 11th International Pediatric HIV Workshop in Mexico City, 2019

The Pediatric HIV Workshop is an academic group affiliated with the International AIDS Society, the largest and most important HIV/AIDS organization in the world. Dr. Familiar was part of the 11th edition, presenting a poster and oral work titled: Chronic maternal depressive symptoms predict executive behavioral problems in their HIV affected children. Using data from a clinical trial in Eastern Uganda testing the effect of a parenting intervention to enhance child development, Dr. Familiar and colleagues analyzed how chronically high depressive symptoms in mothers may impact child executive functioning after a 2 year follow up.
Results were presented as poster and oral during the meeting and Dr. Familiar was awarded Best Poster.
